Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities the ideal candidate will have experience within care, including familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care, and possess the skills necessary to ensure the well-being and comfort of our clients. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining a respectful and empathetic approach.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring adherence to established protocols. Assist with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to appropriate personnel. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in case management to optimise client outcomes.

Requirements

Previous experience in caregiving, particularly within care in the community. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic first aid is advantageous. Familiarity with home care practices, including hospice care and patient care techniques. Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to follow care plans accurately while demonstrating flexibility in meeting client needs. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others live comfortably and independently.
