Role Purpose
We are looking for an Assistant Manager from a practice background, with strong experience across management accounts, VAT, and compliance. You will work closely with a Partner and Manager within the Private Client team to manage a portfolio of high-profile individuals and entrepreneurs, delivering and reviewing their financial reporting requirements, including statutory accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns, while providing ongoing advice and guidance.
Role Objectives
Provide a high level of service and trusted advisory support to a portfolio of key Private Clients through regular face-to-face, video, and email communications
Prepare and/or review statutory accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns for Private Clients.
Support the oversight, management, and development of junior team members within the Private Client team, including future recruits as the team continues to grow.
Assist with business development activities and the onboarding of new Private Clients.
Manage client work in progress, reviews, and billing, ensuring monthly targets and statutory filing deadlines are consistently met.
Co-ordinate closely with the Wealth Management and Tax teams to deliver comprehensive, high-quality reporting packs for clients.
Your knowledge, skills and experience
Newly qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA with experience within a practice environment where main duties have related to statutory year end accounts or management accounts.
Experience of preparing and reviewing financial reporting packs.
Up to date experience of accounting and reporting software, including CCH and Xero.
Personal tax experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
Strong written communication skills to write reports when required
Excellent time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met
Organised and efficient
Commercial outlook with an appetite to take on new challenges
