What are we looking for?



We are now looking to create an interesting and stimulating new role where the successful applicant will become the 'go-to' person to get things done right at the centre of the team. We are looking for:

Someone with administrative/office experience (and not necessarily legal experience) A confident computer user with precise keyboard skills Energetic and pragmatic approach to tasks Meticulous attention to detail A strong work ethic Articulate and clear thinking Excellent people skills A willingness to learn and follow instructions
Whilst previous legal experience in a solicitor's practice dealing with probates, wills and trusts is desirable, it is not essential. If you feel you have most of the personal attributes above, please apply as training and guidance will be given throughout.

The Role



You'll join our Private Client Department and offer a supportive service to your colleagues and our clients. This will include, but not limited to the following responsibilities in which you will be expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative:

To speak to clients both in person and on the telephone in a professional and friendly manner, in keeping with the firm's standards for client care. To attend appointments out of the office to meet clients and other professionals to progress matters. To prepare correspondence and documents through direct instructions and a good degree of autonomy, using initiative. Audio-typing and/or shorthand and word processing. To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Office Manual. To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch. To arrange for all copying to be done. To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary for their Principal. To provide support to other secretaries and assistants as required. To provide guidance to junior and temporary secretaries when required to do so. To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development. To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm's and client's documentation and information.

The Reward



Salary will depend on your experience and ability. The job comes with 5 weeks paid holidays plus paid Bank Holidays.

This is role is based in Morecambe, offering you the chance to work in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK.

Full or part time working will be considered, but full time is preferable.

A full UK driving license is essential.
