As a Private Client Legal Secretary, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Wills & Probate team, ensuring an exceptional client experience and the smooth running of matters from start to finish.

The Role
You will provide professional, efficient secretarial and administrative support to Fee Earners in our Private Client department. This is a client-facing, highly rewarding role for someone who takes pride in delivering excellent service, especially to clients who may be going through sensitive or emotional circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Support & Expertise
Audio and copy typing
Drafting simple Wills and LPAs under Fee Earner direction
Assisting with probate applications, OPG paperwork and other legal documents
Preparing accurate letters, forms and client documents
Managing diaries, scheduling appointments and preparing client meeting packs
Supporting file opening/closing, AML checks and compliance tasks
Scanning, filing and maintaining digital case management records
Managing outgoing post and general file administration
Research & Organisation
Locating, organising and preparing legal documents for Fee Earners
Maintaining well-structured digital and physical filing systems
Client Care
Handling calls, enquiries and updates with professionalism and empathy
Communicating clearly with clients, executors and third parties
Delivering service aligned with our "Modern Law with the Human Touch" ethos
Communication
Producing high-quality typed documents
Drafting correspondence on behalf of Fee Earners
Liaising confidently with internal colleagues and external professionals
Problem Solving
Identifying inconsistencies or administrative issues and resolving them
Escalating time-sensitive concerns where appropriate
Professionalism & Compliance
Maintaining confidentiality and GDPR compliance
Upholding AML, firm policies and regulatory standards
Teamwork & Time Management
Managing your own workload effectively
Supporting the department during busy periods
Helping maintain smooth workflow and high client service standards
Commercial Awareness
Supporting Fee Earners with accurate record-keeping and document production
Assisting with billing processes and administrative efficiencies
Skills & Experience
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
? Previous experience as a Legal Secretary (Private Client is a must)
? Fast, accurate audio and copy typing skills
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
? Strong organisation and time-management abilities
? A high level of discretion and professionalism
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
