Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Private Client Practitioner/FILEX/Solicitor to join our firm on a full/part time or Consultancy basis - working a minimum of 20 hours per week.
You will be responsible for providing legal advice and assistance to private clients on a range of matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a bespoke and personalised local law firm where we value our clients and the relationships we build with them.
Duties:
- Provide expert legal advice to clients on Private Client matters, including Wills, Trusts, Probate, Estate planning, and Tax planning
- Draft and review legal documents including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Trust deeds
- Manage a caseload of Private client matters from start to finish with minimal secretarial support
- Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law
- Attend meetings with clients to discuss their needs and provide guidance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team to provide comprehensive legal services
Skills:
- Qualified Solicitor/Probate Practitioner/FILEX with a valid practicing certificate and 3-5 years experience in a fee earning role
- Strong knowledge and experience in private client law
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drafting legal documents
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build rapport with clients and provide exceptional client service
- Desire to build a caseload and relationships to build the private client side of the business
This role is office based in our lovely air conditioned modern and bright Lewes office - hours and remuneration are negotiable depending on experience/hours and whether a Consultancy position is of interest
