Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated

Private Client Solicitor

to join our team. The successful candidate will manage a broad caseload of both

contentious and non-contentious private client matters

, with a particular focus on wills, probate, estate administration, and related disputes.

Key Responsibilities

Draft wills, lasting powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents. Advise clients on inheritance tax, succession planning, and trusts. Administer estates, including obtaining grants of probate/letters of administration and handling distributions. Act on contentious probate matters, including will challenges, estate disputes, and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and, where required, court proceedings. Maintain excellent client care by providing clear, empathetic, and timely advice. Build and maintain strong client and referrer relationships to support business development. Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations, as well as firm policies.

Requirements

Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (2-5 years PQE in private client work preferred, but all levels considered). Strong knowledge and experience in wills, probate, estate administration, and inheritance matters. Demonstrated ability to handle both contentious and non-contentious probate cases. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage a caseload independently with attention to detail and efficiency. Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach. Commercial awareness and willingness to contribute to the growth of the private client department.

Pay: 35,000.00-65,000.00 per year
