As our current associate is leaving us at the end of this year to emigrate we can offer an opportunity that could see you not only joining a wonderful and talented small practice team as a self employed associate but also having the future potential option for partnership (if that suits you) and ultimately ownership of one of the most well regarded, fully private, practices in the West Country, Twenty 2 Dental in Weston-super-Mare.

We know this opportunity will not suit every dentist, however we are only looking for one special clinician to share our practice and develop the career pathway that you are looking for. If it does, then this could provide you with the quality career satisfaction and lifestyle that we have enjoyed for over 20 years. We are looking for a dentist who has the passion for dentistry to support us with the high demand we have for our services and then, one day when we are all ready, to potentially take over the practice and look after our patients and our team.

In 2003 we set up our dream practice based on a specific vision for providing the type of dentistry we wanted to offer, to communicate this well to attract the kind of patients we wanted to treat, and to hand-select quality team members to support us and develop enhanced skill sets.

Our practice is situated in a lovely Victorian property full of character, with a 'boutique feel', featuring a patient lounge, three large modern well-equipped surgeries, fully computerised systems, digital radiography, CBCT/DPT, I-Tero intra-oral scanners, and 3D printing for in-house laboratory items. Treatment Co-ordination consultation room and solar panels for sustainability. Opened in 2003 as a private 'squat' practice we have built our general patient list offering a growing Membership Plan list, as well as complex and multi-disciplinary dentistry including: aesthetic restorative care, dental implants, orthodontics, periodontology and endodontics to a high standard. It keeps both of us busy, as much as we wish to be - we have both always worked less than four clinical days a week each. Our 2 fantastic, highly skilled and dedicated hygienists provide hygiene maintenance, Supportive Periodontal Treatment, whitening, scanning etc.

We have an experienced and exceptional Practice Manager who runs a talented and professional team, ensures compliance and generally keeps all the wheels turning! The practice is in a residential area not far from the town centre. There are lots of lovely picturesque Somerset villages a short drive (or cycle) away. Bristol and Taunton are both commutable in less than an hour by car or train. We have a wonderful relationship with our patients whom we regard as friends; many of them have been with us since the beginning. We believe that you get the patients you deserve and we have a rigorous 'triage' process with our Treatment Coordinators and Front of House Team to ensure that we attract the right patients. As a mentor of ours, Frank Spear, taught - "We can't be everyone's dentist... so we should focus on the patients that value what we do and offer".

So, what kind of dentist are we looking for? Well, if you're thinking that the patients would be lucky to have you as their dentist, then you're probably not suitable... there is no room for big egos here.

The patient is the focus of our practice; we treat them with respect and are happy to apologise if we fall short of their expectations.

If you have been qualified for 5 years or more, have worked in private practice, can provide a good standard of general dentistry with sound diagnostics and a holistic, team approach to treatment planning, can produce decent root-fillings and direct composites, understand indirect restorations and most importantly communicate well to build relationships, you've got the ability needed. If you are interested in orthodontics, implants, and complex dentistry, that's great too. We are happy to mentor you in any areas you wish to develop and to help you blend into our team as if you have always been there!

If you think you'd like to work in a practice like this and have a desire for ownership in the future but are not quite ready yet, then this would be ideal. We have surgery space all day on a Thursday initially with the opportunity to increase once everyone is comfortable working together and then more in the future as we reduce our commitment to clinical dentistry- there's plenty of work, and new patients are queuing up.
