We are seeking a dedicated and experienced privately funded Teaching Assistant to provide in-school support for a bright 9-year-old boy in Solihull. Our client attends a mainstream school but requires significant academic and social assistance to thrive.
Our Client's Needs:
Our client has a history of cerebral palsy secondary to a brain injury at birth, epilepsy, and ADHD. He is currently struggling within the mainstream school environment, and requires some one-to-one support to help him achieve.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one academic and social support within a mainstream Key Stage 2 classroom setting.
Assist with the understanding and completion of classwork, adapting materials as needed.
Implement strategies to support a child with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, ADHD, and potential ASD.
Help manage and mitigate challenges related to attention, focus, and sensory processing.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support the child's social interactions and emotional well-being.
Liaise effectively with parents/guardians and school staff (as appropriate and agreed upon).
About You:
Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, specifically within Key Stage 2.
Demonstrable experience working with children with complex needs, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and ADHD. Experience with autism is highly desirable.
A compassionate, patient, and resilient individual with a genuine desire to make a difference.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and proactively.
A strong understanding of safeguarding principles.
Relevant TA qualifications are highly desirable.
