OUR IMPACT
Private Wealth Management (PWM) secures, develops and manages relationships with high net worth individuals, their families, family offices and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation within the context of each client's particular risk tolerance, and by providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services, including private banking and trust company services.
YOUR IMPACT
The Investment Strategy Group (ISG) within Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management is responsible for strategic and tactical asset allocation views and providing advice to the firm's high net worth clients and certain institutions. The role of an ISG member requires a broad set of qualities, including a passion for investing, client servicing, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.
The Tactical Asset Allocation team (TAA) within ISG seeks to generate tactical alpha for clients' portfolios by investing across macro asset classes (equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities). In addition to its investment mandate, the TAA team publishes several widely distributed reports and Outlooks each year, and is responsible for disseminating and communicating macro investment views to the firm's clients.
We are seeking a junior Associate who will focus on monitoring market conditions, conducting in-depth research and generating actionable investment insights across developed government bond markets, with a primary focus on non-US government bonds and derivatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in macroeconomic analysis, quantitative research, and experience in a sell-side or buyside fixed income strategy or research role.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting comprehensive research on developed government bond markets by analyzing bond market valuations, fundamental market drivers, supply-demand dynamics, geopolitical factors, and macroeconomic indicators.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant market news, regulatory and policy changes, as well as innovations in developed government bond markets to inform our tactical views.
  • Build innovative data monitors, quantitative models, and trade screening tools to assess market conditions and generate predictive investment insights in fixed income.
  • Primary focus will be on non-US government bond markets, however the hire will be part of a broader team focused on macro investing. As a result, the hire will also support our internal macroeconomic research team, with scope to build out coverage of cross-asset volatility markets and work with other market strategists.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, STEM or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or CFA) is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in investment research, trading, or related roles within asset management or financial services with a focus on fixed income or macroeconomic research.
  • Strong understanding of fixed income markets, ideally with expertise in European/UK government bonds. Experience with options strategies and derivatives is a plus.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis and financial modeling using Excel and Python.
  • Additional European language skills considered beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Passion for markets and investing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Attention to detail, patience, and ability to multi-task under pressure.
