We are recruiting a Pro Bono Lawyer to work with senior stakeholders (Central Management, ESG Committee, HOO's, GH's, PGL's, RP's, teams and offices) and Business operations personnel across the networks to implement the Strategy refining, where needed.
Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests.
This role can be based in any of our UK offices, with our standard office hours. The role reports to the Head of Responsible Business (based in Leeds).
Candidate Overview
We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience:
Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2 years PQE experience
Experience collaborating with clients on pro bono matters
Pro Bono Strategy & Leadership
Lead the development and execution of Pinsent Masons' global pro bono strategy. Working collaboratively with the Pro Bono Partners, ESG Committee and Director of Talent and DEI to create a best-in-class Pro Bono function and offering.
Lead cross-office teams on international collaborative pro bono initiatives, identifying and implementing new pro bono partnerships that align to the Firm's strategy.
Strengthen relationships with existing clients and partners and build strategic new ones. In addition, aim to embed Pro Bono into our practice groups increasing engagement and ownership at team, sector and regional level
Undertake impactful pro bono legal casework aligned with access to justice, supporting young people, and sustainability.
Review and assess new pro bono requests, manage engagement issues, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Advise lawyers on legal and procedural issues arising in pro bono matters.
Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with risk and regulatory procedure
Engagement & Development
Maintain high levels of lawyer engagement and develop creative strategies to increase participation in pro bono across the firm.
Develop opportunities to collaborate with fee-earning clients on pro bono projects.
Communications & Reporting
Draft compelling pro bono communications including newsletters, social media posts, award submissions, and internal news.
Prepare and deliver presentations on pro bono internally and externally.
Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for internal stakeholders and external partners.
Professional Growth & Representation
Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and trainings to support ongoing professional development.
Represent Pinsent Masons' pro bono practice in external forums and networks and contribute to thought leadership.
