Job Description

Reporting to the Process Manager in the Aberdeen office, this post will play a critical role in the delivery of process optimisation services globally for both on and offshore applications. You will be responsible for the delivery of process engineering activities for both 3rd party customers and internal NOV Process Systems global offices.


You will be required to help to tender and execute a variety of process design studies and process system optimisation projects.


The role is particularly technology focused and will require experience working at component level with technology as well as a good grasp of chemistry and fluid dynamics in both theory and practice. Key to this role will be your attention to detail and technical accuracy, communications skills, both spoken and written and the ability to work effectively with other team members.


The role requires the ability to effectively communicate with clients at all levels, to prepare technical and commercial tenders and when required carry out onsite process engineering a chemistry as part of trouble shooting and optimisation projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Work with proposals and engineering teams to support process optimisation and process design projects Attend and participate in bid clarification meetings, technical discussions regarding NOV services and technologies, project kick-off meetings and provide process input to ensure client care is key Present to clients and other industry professionals, providing technical support for business development and sales teams Perform simulation studies and develop heat mass balance sheets Develop PFDs and P&IDs to suit process requirements Calculate and size process equipment (such as pressure vessels, 3-phase separators, de-oiling hydrocyclones, filters, pumps, eductors, etc.) Perform hydraulic calculations and line sizing of single and multiphase fluid flow and slurry flow pipelines Select and size control and manual valves to suit process requirements Prepare process datasheet for equipment and instrumentation

Perform PSV calculations and generate process datasheets
Create and develop proposal and inquiry documents, detail design and specify for purposes of quotation, purchase and manufacture Evaluate sub-vendor proposals and reply to bid clarifications Participate in single and inter-discipline checks and reviews Support the Produced Water Product Line Manager in deployment and development of the NOV PW Portfolio Support the application of Brownfield services portfolio, including working with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) engineers, field services technicians and production chemists Provide site-based support for start-up, commissioning or optimisation, travelling as required Develop process engineering deliverables required for tendering produced water separation systems for Greenfield and Brownfield applications Be familiar with NACE and NORSK standards Occasional travel as and when required

Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering, or similar

Experience:



A working knowledge of the oil and gas industry Proven experience in the oil and gas industry, including hands-on exposure to site-based operations.

Skills, training or special knowledge:



Exceptional communication skills, in particular the ability to create high quality engineering reports and deliverables. Understanding of engineering documents and drawings
