We're looking for a Processor to support our industry leading products at Tosoh Quartz, Inc. in Durham.


As part of the Engineering team, the Process Engineer is responsible for providing Estimating support, optimizing and improving the efficiency of Tosoh Quartz's manufacturing processes. You will ensure a sound manufacturing process, develop new techniques and new products, and coordinate process improvement projects.




Schedule:

8:00 - 17:30 Monday - Thursday, and 8:00 - 12:00 Friday

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:



Review technical drawings to develop manufacturing plans and procedures, evaluate cost factors, and provide accurate quotes for TQI customers. Partner with manufacturing team to develop robust manufacturing processes for new products. Provide estimating support on new products. Assist cross functional team to carry out Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and New Product Introduction (NPI). Develop, enhance, and implement systems that increase efficiency and optimize all phases of service or production processes, from design to manufacturing. Support process design projects and ensure the efficient and safe functioning of all the processes related to producing our products. Integrate new technology or environmentally friendly practices into existing processes. Conduct tests on systems for efficiency and accuracy. Assess safety requirements and ensure these are integrated into the process; maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers. Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards. Collect, record, and transcribe data, and show results in reports. Develop and maintain product and process documentation. Participate in incident investigations and advise on corrective actions



Who you are.




Minimum requirements:

Level 5 or higher in engineering or an alternative technical field. 1+ years of manufacturing experience in an assembly, quality, or machining environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with engineering technical drawings and GD&T. Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagram or schedule form instructions from both internal and external customers. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Intermediate computer skills; experience with MS Office. Ability to assemble and enter accurate data into Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system.
