Role Overview and Responsibilities:

Introduction


Reporting to the Principal Process Engineer, this broad and varied role includes developing new processes for new products, improving existing process to maximise production efficiency and supporting the manufacture of volume product lines.

Key Responsibilities

Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of the production process and equipment Participate in the introduction of new parts including equipment, tool and procedures Proactively identify opportunities to improve yield or manufacturing efficiency and to instigate and lead continuous improvement activities Contribute to technical and gate reviews Assist or lead internal audits, where required Responding to line stops, taking the required actions to restart production in a timely manner Update and maintain manufacturing documentation, including operator instructions, inspection standards, etc. Define new or replacement equipment requirements. Commissioning and validation of new equipment. Define and validate new material as a result of either obsolescence, an improvement activity and new product. Assist in 8D investigations for either external or internal non-conformity.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

Core Requirements

Degree/HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience A strong interest in mechanical, electronic or production engineering.*
Computer literate*
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels. Demonstrated organisational, planning and program skills with careful attention to detail. Be a good Team Player. Keen to learn new skills. Have a strong technical bias. Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines

Desireable Skills and Experience

Experience in manufacturing resistors, print/ fire/ deposition/plating Lean principles and concepts as well as experience/knowledge of how to apply. CAD experience/knowledge. Knowledge of Python would be an advantage
