In 2012 the group expanded its international presence by opening a plant in Selby, UK.

Role Purpose



The Process Engineer is part of the Production Team and will report to the Process Supervisor. The Process Engineer will be responsible for being actively involved in all aspects of improving our end-to-end production process and future site projects.

Main Responsibilities



Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Continuously improving the onsite performance by optimising the power consumption, plant output, reliability, raw material usage and environmental sustainability and minimising production costs. Monitoring performance, analysing data and reporting opportunities for improvement. Identifying areas of improvement and implementing programmes to action improvement activities. Performing process optimisation and troubleshooting with the aim of detailing project budgets and timelines. Following capital improvement projects from initial feasibility studies and design to installation, testing and completion. Actively anticipating/identifying production related problems and planning remedial actions. Ensuring that the technical documentation is readily available and kept up to date - PFDs, P&IDs, Mass and Energy Balances, Technical Drawings, IOMs, etc. Determining the root causes of day-to-day plant issues and implementing sustainable countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence. Ensuring proper implementation of the site quality management system. Ensuring compliance with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) standards by working alongside the EHS and compliance team and developing contingency plans in case of emergencies. Creating and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) documentation. Working collaboratively with colleagues on all levels to improve current processes and develop a culture of continuous improvement. Assisting with general duties associated with a busy expanding production site. Supporting the implementation of a Computerised Maintenance Management system (CMMS) for all repairs, servicing and modifications to plant equipment. Supporting the maintenance team with the relevant technical knowledge. Undertaking other duties as reasonably requested.

Skills and Knowledge



Degree in chemical/process engineering or similar engineering discipline or equivalent. Proven strong technical/process engineering knowledge. Knowledge and understanding of engineering/process principles and techniques. Industry knowledge in food and beverage processing would be considered an advantage. Good analytical skills to understand how manufacturing equipment work and related systems. Good project management skills. Flexibility and adaptability. Hands on approach to work with the ability to react well to change in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and find feasible and efficient solutions swiftly and effectively. Strong and concise communication skills, both verbal and written. Self-motivated and driven to succeed. Very strong teamwork skills. Willingness to join out of hours on call rota in case of need. Experience on using CAD pieces of software, such as AutoCAD, would be considered an advantage. Well-versed in the Microsoft Office package - Word, Excel and PowerPoint mainly.
