Job Description

The Process Site Ancillary Operative plays a vital supporting role within the production environment, ensuring that operational areas are clean, organised, and supplied with the necessary materials and equipment to maintain continuous workflow. This role spans across multiple departments and involves manual handling, basic equipment support, and adherence to health and safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Material Handling & Preparation.



Transport raw materials, chemicals, and finished goods between departments. Assist in loading/unloading of machines and equipment. Prepare and stage materials for production runs.

Site Support



Assist process operatives with setup, changeovers, and shutdowns. Monitor and replenish consumables (e.g., PPE, cleaning supplies). o Support basic maintenance tasks under supervision.

Housekeeping & Safety



Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including sweeping, waste disposal, and spill response. Ensure tools and equipment are stored correctly. Follow site safety protocols, including use of PPE and reporting hazards. Compliance & Documentation Complete checklists and logs as required (e.g., cleaning records, stock movements). Support audits and inspections by maintaining tidy and compliant workspaces.

Team Collaboration



Work closely with production teams, engineers, and supervisors. Participate in toolbox talks and training sessions.

Health & Safety



Ensure all H&S processes are adhered too. H&S improvement opportunities are identified and appropriated followed up. Always maintain a safe working environment. Report any damaged, broken, or unsafe equipment. Ensure all equipment is used and stored in a responsible and safe manner

Operational Efficiency



Timely and accurate delivery of materials and supplies to production areas. Minimal downtime due to lack of support or preparation.

Workplace Standards



Consistently clean and organised workspaces maintained to site standards. Compliance with housekeeping schedules and waste management protocols.

Health & Safety Compliance



Adherence to PPE requirements and safe working practices. Zero incidents or near misses related to manual handling or ancillary tasks.

Team Contribution



Positive feedback from production teams and supervisors. Willingness to assist across departments and adapt to changing priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS



Forklift or pallet truck license (if applicable).

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS



Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment (preferred). Basic understanding of health & safety and manual handling. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
