What you\'ll be responsible for

As a Process Operator you will:

  • Take responsibility for operating sites in line with environmental permits to protect environment; general maintenance of equipment and site, taking effluent samples to monitor and improve biological performance
  • Take responsibility for identifying and where applicable undertaking reactive work as required. Raise reactive work for equipment when required and liaise with multi-discipline craft team on facilitating repairs
  • Identifying potential pollution risks from our assets, taking measures to prevent pollution, and escalating when required
  • Liaising and coordinating with the area Supervisor and team members on operating activities and continuous improvement for the area
  • Take responsibility for personal and colleagues\' safety through compliance with company Health and Safety procedures
  • Understand and adhere to quality system requirements to ensure audit compliance
  • Ownership of sites, ensuring house-keeping standards are maintained and defects reported
  • Willing to develop and learn within the role and have the flexibility and competence to operate and maintain multiple sites
  • Participating in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for area of operation
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business

  • Strong working relationships within the area operations team.
  • Advice and support from the Production Engineers, Process Control and Craft colleagues
  • Liaison with local sewerage network Team
External
  • Liaison with Environment Agency
  • Liaison with DCWW suppliers and contractors.
About you

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualifications in wastewater treatment Process (desirable).
  • Experience gained in industry to ensure full compliance and adherence to all Health & safety standards.
  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day.
  • Awareness of regulatory bodies such as Environment Agency/NRW..
  • Computer systems literate including Success factor, Scope X, Word and Excel are essential.
  • Team player, willing to take part in all necessary training requirements required for the role.
Good to know
  • Multi-site mobile working, no home working.
  • Working hours Mon to Thurs 7.30am - 3.30pm, Fri - 7.30am - 3.00pm and 1 in 5 weekends
  • Requirement to cover standby (1 in 11) & 260 hours of planned overtime with additional earning potential of up to \xc2\xa33000 a year
