We're looking for a driven and hands-on

Process Technologist

to join our Technical team at JDM Food Group.

This is a site-based role at our Bicker facility, reporting to the Process Manager, working Monday to Friday, with salary offered depending on experience.



You'll play a key role at the heart of product development, leading factory trials and supporting the successful launch of new and improved products from concept through to production. Working cross-functionally with NPD, Technical, Production, Engineering, and Commercial teams, you'll ensure customer-approved recipes are scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with factory capability, while meeting food safety, quality, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities



Plan, coordinate, and run factory trials and product launches for NPD recipes. Work closely with NPD, Technical, Production, Engineering, and Commercial teams to deliver products in line with customer briefs. Deputise for the Process Manager when required, including attending daily operations and weekly trials meetings. Generate and maintain accurate documentation for NPD critical paths and process development. Ensure trials are delivered in a cost-effective and efficient manner. Complete post-trial activities, including organoleptic assessments, freeze and transit suitability, and confirmation of quality standards. Verify product information received from Development and feedback any issues identified. Coordinate the creation of production recipes in SAP and collate trial data. Act as a central point of contact for factory queries relating to new product trials and launches. Support Technical with process documentation to enable specification completion and product launch. Ensure all products meet customer criteria through appropriate testing and validation. Travel on company business when required to support customer presentations, trials, or training. Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and environmental legislation at all times.

About You



Experience in a

Process Technologist or NPD role

, ideally within a chilled food manufacturing environment. Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Confident operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-focused mindset. Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal. Able to build strong working relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable, with a positive "can-do" attitude. Full UK driving licence.

Skills & Experience



Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP (or similar ERP systems). Fully literate and numerate, with the ability to produce accurate technical documentation. Experience supporting or supervising others during trials or production activity (where applicable). Good understanding of food safety, quality, and manufacturing processes.

Pay: 29,000.00-34,000.00 per month
