Responsible for supporting the procurement and coordination of resources and materials for the office, workshop, laboratory and site operations team, to ensure that we are able to execute our operations effectively and profitably, and that we are delivering an effective service to our clients.
To maintain supply databases and KPI's. To validate supplier compliance using our SCAD (supply chain database) system, and provide sites and estimating with specifications and product/service information as required.
The key function of the role will be to support, liaise, and negotiate by telephone and email with other departments, sites and external suppliers for securing best deals. Other key tasks include:
Process requisitions in accordance with established procedures and raise purchase orders.
Generate and process general purchase orders to suppliers.
Generate and process external plant hire orders and off hire when requested by site.
Order external transport, in liaison with depot/site requirements and working with transport suppliers to secure back loads where possible.
Supply Chain database management - documentation, certification, approvals, vetting, ratings, compliance, KPI performance reporting.
General Admin duties - filing, typing, photocopying, scanning, working with spreadsheets and data entry.
Adhere to Soil Engineering Work Procedures and to consult more important decisions or discuss suggestions with an appropriate person.
The role will involve working in our office, based in Beeston, Leeds.
Working in a small team, you will be a good communicator, enthusiastic, well organised and able to work effectively under pressure, with strong IT skills.
Usual working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 (40 hours per week)

The successful candidate will need admin experience in a busy office environment, as well as great organisation, communication and team-working skills. Previous Procurement experience is desirable.
Strong IT skills, excel knowledge is essential but also including Microsoft office/word. Oracle based software / construction software experience preferable.
Good understanding of written & spoken English and good standard of letter writing.
Workload varies from general routine jobs to tasks carrying responsibility and requiring good planning and organisation, use of one's own initiative and reasoning.
Good customer-service focus and a professional approach.
Essential to provide support to others as and when required, therefore flexibility and good organisation necessary.
You will need to maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure everything work done is compliant with our business strategy and procedures.
