We now have an opening for an experienced Procurement Manager to join the team. Within this team, you will find yourself buying anything from commodity items through to contracts relating to Space, Energy and Carbon Net Zero, Consultancy, IT services and goods to name a few, but no two days are the same . Every day, we support world renowned scientists and researchers, policy makers and agencies that help to keep the UK at the forefront of global science, innovation and business

Ensure procurements adhere to Government regulations regarding the advertising and publishing of opportunities.

Work with stakeholders/project teams to develop service specifications and appropriate contractual terms in preparation for tender processes. E ns u r e t h a t a u d i t tr a il s a r e c r e a t e d , g o v e r n a nce a nd d u e d ili g e nce are e m b e d d e d , a n d va l ue f or m o n ey ana l ys i s u n d e rt ak e n Support the Head of Procurement with any ad-hoc strategic activities Build and lead a culture within the team that encourages accountability, consistent ways of working, and good customer service, ensuring alignment with business objectives and service excellence. Support driving the implementation of best practices into Procurement operations and service transformation
To do this role well you will need:


A proven background of m a n a gi ng a n d r u n n i ng m e di um t o h i gh va l ue comp l ex p r oc u r e m e n t p r o j ec t s ( n o n - ca t e g ory m a n a g ed sp e n d) fr o m i n i t i al cu s t om e r e n g a g ement t h r o u gh t o s e l ecti o n and a w ard o f co n t r ac t . Previous procurement experience with a good understanding of Government regulations, b e st p r actice proc u r e m e nt p r oc e sses a n d po li c i es Demonstratable experience i n adva n c e d pu r ch a s i ng t ec h n i q u es ( e. g . a b ove t h r es h o l d) a n d pu r ch a s i ng p l at f o r m s e.g. Jaggaer eSourcing Platform Knowledge and experience of procurement processes in the Public Sector People management skills, including coaching and mentoring. Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills Ideally a member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)
