Land Energy is one of the UK's leading biomass energy businesses and specialises in biomass pellet and briquette production and other low carbon products. The company is on a growth cycle and continues to add product offerings to its product portfolio. Land Energy has a 100 strong workforce, state of the art biomass CHP equipped with an Organic Rankine Cycle turbine and a 100,000-tonne wood pellet production plant & soon to build secondary co-product production facility.

The Role



The Procurement Manager works closely with the Production, Engineering and Project Teams to ensure that goods and services are planned, managed, and executed to deliver optimal value to the business. Goods range from stock items and consumables for production through to engineering spares for production equipment and new purchases of capital equipment. Services include maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment and supporting services such as waste disposal and cleaning.

Key Responsibilities:



Create and implement procurement policies and procedures.

Create and manage full tender execution processes, including bid evaluations, shortlisting suppliers, and commercial negotiations.

Delivery of savings targets aligned with business goals.

Develop Service Level Agreements to ensure expectations are clear and risks are mitigated.

Build supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance against delivery, quality, and pricing KPIs.

Drive continuous improvement, sustainability, and cost efficiency initiatives.

Manage & oversee day-to-day operations of procurement and stores team, driving team performance and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Provide procurement support for business-critical projects.

Maintain register of contractors on site to ensure H&S compliance.

Skills & Experience Required:



Proven experience in a procurement management role, preferably with experience in direct and indirect procurement in a relevant industry.

CIPS (preferred) or willing to undergo study for a CIPS qualification.

Excellent attention to detail.

Proactive attitude, strong communicator and ability to mentor.

Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
