The Opportunity



The role holder will be responsible for overall value proposition of company's supplier base in terms of Cost, Service and Quality it delivers to a rapidly expanding FMCG company.

The responsible person will identify the overall procurement strategy of all categories and obtain internal approval for the appropriate long- term supplier base in order to meet current and future business needs.

The individual will be responsible for achieving the year on year cost improvement targets as required by the business in order to re-invest in its growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities



To devise, develop and implement procurement strategies and tactics for each spend area (category) so that business targets are achieved.

Deliver year on year cost reduction program

To provide commercial and negotiation expertise to all projects and initiatives in the each spend area to achieve the year on year cost reduction programme.

Establish the appropriate External Supplier Relationship for each spend area/sub spend area. E.g. be able to manage the breadth from owner of SME businesses through to Multinational corporate representatives in the attainment of required outcomes for the company.

Contracts. Drive the maturity forwards in order to get top 80% of vendors onto company preferred Terms and Conditions and establishing supplier agreements. Be able to negotiate preferred terms with existing and new partners/suppliers

Project Management and Change Agent. A particular focus will be producing detailed project plans, data analysis and converting these into living projects with deliverables. Leading to results analysis and KPI reporting

Manage External Supplier Performance. Introduce a more formal external supplier performance and manage /set the appropriate KPI's/Metrics to deliver improvement in supplier OTIF and quality as required by a rapidly expanding business.

To provide commercial expertise to internal customers during the procuring of new goods and services. Support both direct (NPD) and Indirect (ongoing business requirements)- the processes of identification, understanding, prioritisation and management of risk with respect to the procurement of goods and services within the category

Track and Report progress for the function back to the leadership team as required and for monthly reporting.

Establish and maintain a Business Continuity Plan /Risk register for all external supply to ensure the company de-risks all external expenditures for the present/future.

Business Processes- optimise in house 3rd party software capability in support of Procurement & Supply Chain business goals

To provide procurement expertise to all functional departments as appropriate.

About You



You'll be an experienced procurement professional with a passion for driving commercial value and building strong supplier partnerships. You thrive in a growing business and combine analytical strength with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Essential Experience & Skills



Minimum 5 to 8 years' procurement experience, ideally in FMCG or manufacturing Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation & contract-management success Demonstrated ability to deliver cost-saving and performance-improvement initiatives Strong supply-chain understanding and supplier management experience Proficiency in ERP and digital procurement platforms Excellent communication, stakeholder influence and project management skills Analytical, organised, proactive and solutions-focused mindset

Desirable



CIPS, ISM or equivalent professional procurement qualification Master's degree (MBA/Supply Chain/Procurement) Knowledge of BRCGS/HACCP/ISO standards and sustainability best practices
