Job Description


Butler Rose are partnered with a growing manufacturing business in the Honiton area who have a current requirement for a Procurement Manager. This is an exciting time to be working with this company who have strong growth plans for the years to come.

The role

Your role will be to lead and mentor the Procurement team. Creating new and improving existing procedures to ensure good working practice and compliance with contractual and legal requirements. You will run competitive tenders to find suitable suppliers for specific commodities and you will create and negotiate framework agreements with suppliers.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Procurement team.
  • Guiding and nurturing the professional growth of Procurement team members.
  • Identifying and selecting key suppliers from an approved pool, ensuring their ability to meet the company\'s standards for quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Formulating, negotiating, and managing framework agreements with vital suppliers for specific goods or services.
  • Negotiating terms and conditions to secure favourable agreements.
  • Establishing a schedule for engaging with suppliers.
  • Orchestrating crucial activities with suppliers to ensure punctual delivery in accordance with agreed terms.
  • Devising solutions for non-standard issues and assessing associated risks for the company.
  • Understanding the company\'s needs for goods and/or services.
  • Conducting supplier engagement meetings, drafting RFQs, and managing responses.
  • Generating and processing purchase orders, along with monitoring pricing requests.
  • Expediting purchase orders for oneself and team members.
  • Operating within predefined resource limitations, assessing task feasibility before commencement, and striving to minimise costs through effective planning and resource utilisation.
  • Completing tasks within agreed-upon time lines and promptly reporting and discussing potential delays with the manager.

To be chosen for the role you must possess the following experience:

  • Team management skills and experience of supporting and mentoring.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to work on multiple tasks with tight schedules.
  • Experienced within the procurement / engineering environment.
  • Good interpersonal/ communication skills including the ability to influence/ negotiate at all levels, internally and externally to the business.

Package

  • Monday to Friday role
  • \xc2\xa340,000 - \xc2\xa345,000 + benefits (including bonus)
  • Permanent position
