We are currently seeking a

Procurement Manager

to lead and manage our medication and supplies purchasing. This role is essential to maintaining a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain to support patient care.


About the Role





As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient acquisition of medicines and pharmacy-related supplies. Youll work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure our homecare patients receive the right products at the right time without compromising on quality or compliance.


Key Responsibilities




Strategic Procurement




Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective sourcing of medications and pharmacy supplies.

Supplier Management




Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements. Monitor supplier performance to ensure reliability and quality.

Inventory Management




Oversee and optimise stock levels to avoid shortages and overstocking. Support demand planning and forecasting for homecare-specific needs.

Cost Management




Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising service delivery or patient safety. Work collaboratively with finance to track expenditure and achieve savings.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance




Ensure all procurement activities meet regulatory requirements and internal policies. Verify the quality and suitability of procured products, including storage and transportation conditions.

Internal Communication




Liaise with pharmacy, clinical, and logistics teams to ensure procurement aligns with service delivery needs. Provide regular updates on product availability, delivery timelines, and market risks (e.g., shortages or recalls).

Homecare Expertise




Understand and anticipate the specific medication and equipment needs of patients receiving care at home. Tailor procurement practices to support safe, effective, and patient-focused homecare delivery.

About You





Were looking for a forward-thinking and detail-oriented individual who can drive operational efficiency while supporting clinical excellence.


Essential Requirements:




Proven experience in a procurement or supply chain management role, preferably within pharmacy, healthcare, or a regulated environment. Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, and inventory control. Familiarity with healthcare or pharmacy regulatory requirements (e.g., GPHC, MHRA, GDP). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.

Desirable:




Experience in a homecare or clinical pharmacy setting. CIPS qualification or working towards one. Knowledge of procurement software and stock management systems.
