Responsibilities will include

:


Review and enhance procurement strategy to optimise cost, quality, service levels, and supplier reliability


Working with internal functions to ensure all stakeholders needs are met.


Source global suppliers and manage the procurement life cycle, including new product introduction.


Manage procurement team performance, development plans, and appraisals


Work closely with the Head of Supply Chain to manage procurement strategy and ensure optimal supplier performance and cost.


Lead activities such as supplier evaluation, contract management, risk assessment, and long-term relationship building.


Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs.


Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate agreements, and implement KPIs for continuous improvement.


Support contract negotiation and terms with suppliers.


Oversee the procurement process from sourcing to delivery.


Lead and mentor the procurement team to ensure high performance and professional growth.


Undertaking all aspects of procurement related activity to achieve on-time delivery, meeting cost and quality requirements.


Regularly visit suppliers to maintain relationship and manage schedules, risks and opportunities.


Strong background in demand planning, inventory management, asset management, spares and repairs provision


Create expediting reports and undertake expediting activity with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries in accordance with programme requirements.



Qualifications and Experience

:





A CIPS/MCIPS qualification or equivalent


A minimum of 5 years' experience of working in a Procurement / Supply Chain environment, ideally within a maritime / defence environment.


A proficient negotiator with strong commercial awareness and influencing skills


Excellent organisational and time management skills


Excellent stakeholder management skills


Excellent verbal and written communication skills to pass information clearly and accurately


Leadership and team management skills, with a track record of driving performance.


IT Proficient - MS Office, JIRA, Confluence


Great attention to detail and ability to multi-task


The ability to understand and apply feedback on work performance.


Adaptable - maintaining established process whilst initiating and driving change and efficiencies.


Collaborative and proactive / 'can-do' working style.


Procurement governance and compliance


Excellent collaboration and team working skills


Risk and opportunity management


Experience of ERP systems ideally Infor LN



Note

: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.
