Job Summary:



NextPharma Edinburgh is looking for a Procurement and Planning Officer to support material management, ensuring that quality, cost and supplier agreement terms and conditions are actively managed through strategic sourcing plans and supplier relationship management.

Role owner will ensure site business continuity through availability of the correct grade and specification of materials for both clinical trial and commercial manufacturing projects, with sourcing and purchasing to align with NextPharma's local and global material management strategies and NextPharma policies, standards, and procedures.

Essential Functions:



Category management, day-to-day purchasing and material planning to include supplier / product sourcing for the site and management of supplier contracts.

Develop and proactively manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the quality, cost and delivery performance is optmised and monitored.

Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve service from suppliers.

Liaise with key stakeholders to include Quality, Project Management, Development and Production to ensure that materials and supplies are available on time for scheduled projects in line with the master production schedule.

Assist operational teams with preparation of relevant documents required to support the procurement of capital items.

Assist with planning and logistics of site scheduling activities through stock and purchase planning to include maintenance of optimal inventory levels in line with site scheduling activity, noting working capital targets.

Maintain risk mitigation strategy for key materials / components ensuring the second sources are in place where appropriate.

Identify and implement operational efficiencies, such as invoice consolidation, supplier consolidation, etc.

Maintain and manage spend database related to NextPharma purchases to include monthly reporting to the relevant stakeholders.

Other Duties:



Work with site leads to establish and implement long and short-term goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures relating to material management.

Contribute to site and potentially group cost saving projects.

Supervision



Reports to site lead Materials Manager.

Qualifications



Required



Minimum 2 years' experience in procurement; knowledge of chemical or pharmaceutical industry is desired.

SAP expertise.

Motivated, self-starter with strategic mindset. Resilient to setbacks and challenges and accustomed to working with sites (all levels) to deliver objectives and goals.

Excellent project management, change management, relationship management and interpersonal skills.
