supplies ingredients, packaging and equipment to support food production and related operations. We're growing fast and are now hiring a seasoned Procurement & Purchasing Manager to build robust supplier partnerships, control costs and keep production running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
Identify and manage reliable suppliers for ingredients, packaging and equipment.
Carry out local purchasing and international imports of materials and machinery.
Negotiate contracts, pricing and delivery schedules to secure best value and quality.
Coordinate with Production and Finance to maintain steady material flow and cost control.
Maintain accurate supplier, contract and purchasing records.
Monitor stock levels and introduce simple digital tracking systems.
Evaluate and develop partnerships with suppliers of ingredients, packaging and food-related materials.
Research new products, suppliers and equipment to enhance production quality and efficiency.
Ensure all sourcing complies with food-safety and quality standards.
Report directly to the Managing Director on supplier performance and operational requirements.
About you
Proven experience in procurement/purchasing (ideally within food, FMCG, manufacturing or packaging).
Strong supplier management and negotiation skills with a track record of savings and service improvement.
Confident handling international purchasing, logistics and Incoterms.
Sound understanding of inventory control and basic
ERP/digital tools
; advanced Excel skills.
Familiarity with UK food-safety and quality frameworks (e.g., BRCGS/ISO) is highly desirable.
Excellent commercial judgement, attention to detail and stakeholder communication.
CIPS qualification
(or progress toward it) is a plus.
