What You'll be doing:



Reporting into the Senior Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end Procurement processes, including contract management, in line with Public Sector Principles for a wide range of disciplines, including Hard Facilities Management, Specialist Systems, Compliance, Systems and Waterfront capabilities.



As part of the Supply Chain Team successful delivery of functional objectives, this role involves supporting the Senior Procurement Specialist in implementing Procurement strategies, aligned to business objectives to deliver best value, drive down sub-contract spend and transactional workload.



The Procurement Specialist will also be responsible for identifying and driving efficiencies by implementing Supply Chain strategies, work instructions, and processes, while continuously seeking improvements. Working closely internal stakeholders and building supplier relationships to ensure the best outcome for the delivery of services to the Naval Base.


You'll Have:





A CIPS Level 4 qualification, and demonstrable experience in public sector tendering, particularly within Hard FM, construction, or systems--while familiarity with maritime services would be advantageous, it's not essential. The role demands expertise in managing end-to-end procurement for large, complex packages, from pre-qualification and tender documentation through to bid evaluation and outcome recommendations.



Additionally, a deep understanding of supply chain management is encouraged, supplier engagement, and contract placement is essential, along with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships. You'll also be skilled in process mapping and refining team procedures, with a sharp eye for market research, supplier identification, and specification development. Experience in managing Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) for high-value projects will be particularly valuable.
