Role Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially-minded Procurement Manager to take full ownership of the procurement function. You will be responsible for developing and leading our procurement function across all key product and service lines, managing supplier relationships, and be part of the business development program to integrate and evolve the company ERP system.
You will also lead the warehouse team and a Procurement Coordinator, ensuring streamlined stock management, inventory control, and just-in-time delivery to support our high-performance installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Supplier Management
Lead sourcing across solar panels, inverters, mounting systems, batteries, EV chargers, and electrical components.
Maintain robust supplier relationships and negotiate favourable contracts.
Track market trends, material availability, and risks.
Vet and onboard suppliers to meet quality, certification, and ethical standards while managing supply continuity.
Inventory, Logistics & Warehouse Oversight
Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, and site fulfilment.
Align procurement with project timelines.
Improve stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
Monitor KPIs related to quality, lead times, and usage.
Leadership & Team Development
Manage and mentor the warehouse team and Procurement Coordinator.
Promote accountability, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
Commercial & Operational Impact
Support budgeting and project cost forecasts.
Implement procurement efficiencies and cost-saving initiatives.
Report performance and risks to Operations while aligning strategy with Finance and Delivery teams.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven procurement/supply chain experience in renewable energy, construction, or electrical sectors.
Strong negotiation, commercial, and supplier management skills.
Warehouse/inventory management experience.
Effective communicator with excellent organisation and leadership qualities.
Advanced Excel and ERP/procurement software (e.g., SAP) proficient.
Minimum CIPS Level 3 or equivalent.
Desirable
Knowledge of solar PV, battery storage, or electrical systems.
CIPS Level 5 or equivalent.
Additional Information
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence.
Based at our Norwich office with travel to sites as required.
