Job Description


  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders including the executive team, management team, haulage and finance. Delivering customer excellence to internal and external end-users through good planning and execution.
  • Work in conjunction with Farm Managers to support potato crop production, including varietal choice, contracts, planting, harvesting and storage plans to enable efficient contract fulfilment and haulage team to deliver crops on time and utlilise the haulage fleet in the most efficient manner.
  • Responsible for the fulfilment of all contracted sales of crops including cereals, oilseeds, pulses, vining peas, sugar beet and potatoes and develop and maintaining a crop sale dashboard which fulfils the objectives of all internal stakeholders.
  • Monitoring of stored crop quality to highlight risks to achieving the required specification and coordinate sampling results.
  • Explore opportunities for vendor assurance in all crops. Extracting more value out of the supply chain through our data collection processes.
  • Identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities in relation to direct sales, selling locally and the reduction of commodity crops. Ensuring robust and secure routes to market.
  • Implementing and reporting on KPI's e.g. grain claims, rejection monitoring, weight and price deductions by customer and information to the exec and business unit managers monthly along with quarterly reporting to the finance teams.
  • Ensure regular review and planning dialogue, including market and crop quality monitoring to recommend and action marketing plans in conjunction with the Farming Director and Commercial Director.
  • Owning, managing and reporting data collected across the farms. Building relationships with internal and external customers and sharing data in a suitable format and using data to increase the value and provenance of all crops
  • Collate data from across the business to input into carbon calculation tools. Present the data to stakeholders once footprints have been completed. Be aware of the approaches of each tool and understand how they work and keep up to date with evolving carbon accounting standards, tools, and reporting obligations. Identify opportunities to reduce carbon footprint within the business.
Personal
  • Educated to degree level preferred in a related field e.g. Agriculture, Agri-business etc
  • Experience in either grain or produce.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders e.g. Executive team, management team, finance and third parties.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude and commitment to health and safety
  • Commitment to undertake continued training and development
  • IT literate with an excellent understanding of systems and MS office.
  • Finance literate
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Suggests and implements solutions both within the role and the wider business to promote continuous improvement.
  • Personable and professional manner
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work
  • Willing to take responsibility and ownership for tasks
  • Ability to work under own initiative but also as part of the wider Dyson Farming team
  • Holds a current UK driving licence
