We are On The Tools - the nation's largest online construction community, aiming to entertain, inform, and empower tradespeople in the UK. We're connecting construction to improve the lives of every tradesperson in the UK.
Based in one of the most iconic offices in the West Midlands, a career with us is a vibrant one. If you're looking to be part of something special, something dynamic, something exciting - On The Tools could be the place for you.
ROLE SUMMARY
We're looking for a hands-on Producer who lives and breathes social media and knows how to ideate and create social content that stops thumbs and fuels community engagement. This person will lead production from pitch to publishing - developing ideas, overseeing shoots, and ensuring everything we put out reflects why the trade and brands trust On The Tools. Whether it's leading a full crewed shoot or capturing high-quality content solo using a phone or camera kit, you're comfortable adapting to the needs of each project without compromising on creative standards. This Producer is bursting with ideas, radiates confidence, and is obsessed with turning great thinking into content that performs. It's suited to a passionate and driven individual who will help us enact the On The Tools mission of connecting construction to improve the lives of all tradespeople in the UK.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Bring strong knowledge of creative and video production workflows, especially for bespoke, social-first content
Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, from pre-production through to post
Write comprehensive and engaging platform appropriate scripts and outlines that reflect the brief and brand voice
Understand (or quickly develop a strong feel for) the needs, humour, and culture of UK trades audiences to ensure all content lands authentically
Lead shoots end to end as both Producer and Director - overseeing crew, directing talent, and ensuring a smooth, on-brief production
Adapt quickly to fast-paced, on-location shoots - whether on building sites, at events, or in the thick of real-life action
Confidently self-shoot content using phones or lightweight kits when needed - capturing footage solo without reliance on a videographer
Think for the edit and ensure content is fit-for-platform from the outset, championing a social-first mindset
Collaborate with Creatives and Clients to turn ideas into bold, audience-first executions
Confidently engage with clients to shape briefs and guide them through the creative and production process
Respond quickly and resourcefully to real-time trends and reactive opportunities
Spot and solve production challenges with confidence and calm
Lead by example within the wider team - shaping process, sharing knowledge, and driving high standards
Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting team training and exploring new ways to enhance content and workflows
Ensure all output aligns with our brand mission and why clients trust us
Bring a can-do, hands-on approach - no ego, no passengers, just people who make things happen
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
You're a creative thinker who thrives on generating, pitching, and driving new ideas forward
You bring excellent leadership and communication skills and are able to inspire confidence in both clients and crew
You've got a passion for all things social and video related, with a deep understanding of what works on each platform and for paid media
You're highly organised, able to coordinate multiple shoots and projects without missing a beat
You're a natural on set and in the edit, leading shoots with vision and crafting stories that keep audiences watching in post
You have at least three years experience in video production, from concept through to delivery
You can write engaging, platform appropriate scripts and outlines, and think visually from the outset
You take pride in delivering consistently high quality work and raising the creative bar every time
You thrive in fast paced environments, balancing multiple projects with calm and clarity.
You take a positive, proactive approach to everything. No egos, no passengers, just people who make things happen
You hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to your own car to travel to and from shoots
