Job Description

The Product Analyst - Interest Rate Derivatives is a 2 month paternity cover to support the Banking department by analysing and managing interest rate derivative products. The role requires strong attention to detail and an understanding of financial products, particularly derivatives, to ensure accurate reporting and operational efficiency.

  • Analyse and manage interest rate derivative products, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support the lifecycle management of financial derivative products.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for stakeholders, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of derivative products.
  • Assist in the implementation of new tools and systems to enhance efficiency.
Requirement Gathering & Analysis
  • Elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements in the form of user stories.
  • Uncover tacit knowledge, identify unknowns, and assimilate relevant business and technical facts.
  • Break down complex business requirements into smaller, actionable components with clear value and ROI.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Manage cross-regional stakeholder relationships and ensure transparent communication.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners to ensure prioritization and alignment with business goals.
  • Clearly articulate problem statements and proposed solutions in simple, concise language.
Agile Delivery & Planning
  • Participate in all Scrum ceremonies including planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Refine requirements with developers and agree on incremental, sprint-wise delivery plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date Jira boards to enable accurate dashboards and MI reporting.
Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Leverage SME knowledge to support unit, system integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Collaborate with QA and development teams to define test cases and validate outcomes.
  • Drive UAT cycles, gather evidence, and coordinate releases within agreed timelines.
Design & Configuration
  • Work with development teams and solution design authorities to ensure adherence to sound design principles.
  • Understand and support unique business configurations within software applications.

A successful Product Analyst - Interest Rate Derivatives should have:
  • Strong experience delivering Interest Rate Derivatives as a Product/Business Analyst
  • Strong agile project delivery experience including documentation, user cases, prioritization and UAT testing.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry, particularly within the Banking & Financial Services sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of interest rate derivative products.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools used for analysis and reporting.
  • A detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage complex data.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the financial sector
