The Product Architect will be a key leader in the product development lifecycle, responsible for designing and defining the architecture of innovative media products and platforms. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the media landscape. The Product Architect will translate business requirements and user needs into technical specifications and product roadmap, ensuring that solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with the businesses long-term vision. They will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of high-quality AI driven media products.

Architectural Design & Definition:Partner with the products and platforms team to develop new tools, products and services, encompassing areas like, media planning tools, content management systems (CMS), advertising technologies (ad-tech), data analytics platforms, audience segmentation tools, and interactive media experiences.
Own the dentsu.connect narrative for the media practice, working in partnership with the wider media practice and D&T department.
Ensure out media products are leading edge and are AI driven.
Responsible for fast prototyping of products and platforms for all media pitches and global client needs.
Define technical specifications, data models, API structures, and integration strategies for various product components.
Develop high-level and detailed architectural diagrams, technical roadmaps, and documentation.
Ensure architectural designs are scalable, secure, performant, and maintainable.
Strategic Alignment & Roadmap:Collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders to understand business objectives, market trends, and client needs and pitches.
Translate strategic goals into actionable technical requirements and architectural blueprints.
Contribute to the overall media product roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation and technological advancements within the media space.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance product capabilities and efficiency.
Technical Leadership & Guidance:Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
Conduct technical reviews and provide constructive feedback on designs and implementations.
Act as a subject matter expert, resolving complex technical challenges and making critical architectural decisions.
Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams including Media Planners, Client Teams, Engineering, UX/UI Design, Data Science, and New Business.
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences (e.g. client pitches).
Facilitate technical discussions, workshops, and decision-making processes.
Collaborate with external vendors and partners for integrations and technology solutions.
Quality & Standards:Ensure that architectural designs promote high standards of code quality, testability, and deployment efficiency.
Define and enforce architectural governance, principles, and guidelines.
Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and media landscape trends to continuously improve product architecture.
Required Skills & Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3-5 years in Product Architectural or Lead Engineer role.
Experience of working and operating in media planning and buying.
Fluent in the data and tech language and can work with tech teams and engineers.
Proven experience designing and delivering complex software systems, preferably within the media, advertising, or digital content industries.
Strong understanding of media agency operations, advertising workflows (programmatic, direct), content delivery, and audience data.
Technical Proficiency:Deep understanding of various architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven, serverless).
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Go).
Proven experience of driving product innovation in products and platforms.
Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP) and their respective services (e.g., compute, storage, databases, messaging).
Strong knowledge of database technologies (relational and NoSQL).
Experience with APIs and integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, Kafka, etc.).
Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) is a plus.
Understanding of data architecture, data pipelines, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is highly desirable.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
