We're looking for a
Product Assistant
to join our growing office team at our warehouse in Haverhill, Suffolk.
As our business grows, the various roles in our office are stretched more and more each day. This role will primarily support our Product Manager across a range of product-related tasks. From listing new products and communicating with our suppliers for product updates, to product photography and investigating product issues, your work will directly contribute to the successful development and delivery of our product range.
Whilst the majority of the responsibilities will be routine, the role includes elements of variation in terms of the products, priority, investigations and exciting new launches. It's the ideal role for someone who can knuckle-down and focus on routine, repetitive tasks, but can also adapt to fresh challenges when required.
To start with, you'll be assisting with listing products to our website. Once you're settled in and comfy with that, we'll introduce the other tasks under this role - product photography, assisting with product errors/updates, communicating with product suppliers and our lovely support team to investigate product issues.
Product Management Support
You will work closely with the Product Manager on product-related tasks, including:
Listing new products on our website
Assisting with product photography and basic image editing
Investigating technical issues with products
Liaising with suppliers regarding specifications, changes and issues
Managing product updates and changes
Working with our lovely support team to investigate product issues
The ideal candidate will:
Have excellent grammar/writing skills and understand the importance this has on the perception of our products to the customer (we welcome grammar police)* Have good general computing skills with the confidence and mindset to learn new software and processes quickly
Be able to take instructions or assignments from others and work efficiently, confidently and effectively on their own
Be flexible and adaptable - open to learning new things, self-teaching where required, and taking on different tasks every day
Be well organised with the ability to prioritise the work and activities assigned to you
Have excellent attention to detail and awareness to spot issues or errors in products descriptions, images and your own outputs (you really must be a stickler for these things)* Be able to follow pre-defined processes where required, to ensure consistency with products and customer contacts
Be self-sufficient in finding information to support their activities (Google is your friend)*
Not essential, but the candidate will score maximum bonus points if they:
Have at least some knowledge/experience of the Raspberry Pi/Arduino/Home Assistant/Maker/Hobbyist electronics/3D printing world
Are more on the technically minded side - in-tune with technology, gadgets, the maker world, smart devices, IoT and everything under the very wide 'tech' banner
Have experience with SLR photography and/or product photography
You really shouldn't apply if:
You're not "a technical person" - we need someone who is going to understand and appreciate (even at a high level) the products we sell and the customers who buy them. We appreciate that we operate within a niche market, however this role will likely not be enjoyable for anyone who simply just isn't that "into*" technology. You're the kind of person who asks before trying to find the answer themselves.
You have the attention span of a toddler
You plan to blag the interview with some stuff you read about the Raspberry Pi online. We'll know.*
