Job Title: Product Assurance Quality Engineer

Location: Stevenage

Pay Range/details: Circa \xc2\xa340,000 - \xc2\xa350,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits + Pension + Flexible Working

Contract Type: Permanent

My client, who are the leading specialists in weapon systems are calling out for quality engineers of defence and avionics or aerospace backgrounds to join their rapidly expanding engineering teams due to exponential growth within the defence industry.

In this role, you will be supporting projects in all phases of the product lifecycle, you will play a pivotal role with the aim of ensuring all core Product Assurance activities are met. The role will involve working on a multi-national project, as well as with an established Quality network, preventing and minimising product non-conformance, supporting smooth equipment delivery, assuring reliable products, and continually growing the satisfaction of our customers.

Due to the nature of the projects, you will need to be able to obtain valid UK security clearance if you are successful in your application.

Key Responsibilities \xe2\x80\x93 Product Assurance Quality Engineer

  • Establishing project quality plans to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Deploying skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and standards
  • Identifying and managing quality related risks on projects / products and ensuring our suppliers are compliant.
  • Promoting continuous improvement strategies within full product lifecycle
Qualifications & Requirements \xe2\x80\x93 Product Assurance Quality Engineer
  • Ideally HNC/HND in Engineering or Quality Assurance, or equivalent work experience
  • Ideally a practitioner of current QA problem solving and improvement methods (8D, RCA, DMAIC, etc.)
  • A high degree of self-motivation, autonomy, and the skills to work proactively, with excellent organisation, communication & interpersonal skills
  • The ability to influence change, a respectful team player, comfortable working in a matrix organization
  • Strong analytical skills, running reports in Excel, using SAP QM, and various document management tools
  • Continuous improvement awareness and initiative to deliver
  • The ability to understand and respect cultural differences

  • Annual company bonus of up to \xc2\xa32,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year)
