About this role:

In BT Business, the Product Design Principal leads the development, testing and creation of new product solutions and interaction designs, applying world class product and interaction design expertise, to ensure that BT\xe2\x80\x99s products and features are of the highest level of craft and execution, easy to use, and deliver experiences that create value for customers/users.

You\'ll have the following accountabilities:

  • Sets the technical direction and product experience vision of the team in line with clear goals and rationales.
  • Operates as an SME within own field of expertise, providing advanced expertise in all aspects of end-to-end experience design, including using storyboards, journey maps, flow diagrams, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Oversees the delivery of world class digital-first experiences that achieve commercial goals such as increased digital channel share and have clear commercial impact in line with global-first practices, accessibility, and inclusive principles.
  • Collaborates with other roles including product owners, researchers, content designers, service designers and engineers to contribute to high-level strategic decisions, as well as envision and execute impactful product experiences globally.
  • Leads large scale, complex design activities, taking a lead in a strategically important area and executing on an experience, a product line and/or many products.
  • Leads design workshops and sprints with cross-functional teams to explore innovative solutions for problems and opportunities identified through research and data.
  • Leads the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to improve the design team processes, such as through exploration of new design tools.
  • Mentors and coaches experienced professionals to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.
  • Advocates for product design that\xe2\x80\x99s iterative, research-based, data-informed, and focused on customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs.
