Job Description

Barocal, a spin-out from the University of Cambridge developing breakthrough cooling and heating technologies. Founded by Professor Xavier Moya, Barocal is the global technology leader in solid-state cooling. Our technology is based on 15 years of research and may deliver 2-3 times higher energy efficiency compared to traditional systems while eliminating harmful refrigerant gases. Supported by Kiko Ventures, Cambridge Enterprise, Breakthrough Energy, and the European Innovation Council, Barocal's technology is poised to transform entire industries, impacting over 40% of global energy use.



Tasks



Product Development: Contribute to the development of Barocal's product from prototype onward Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the rest of the engineering team to integrate product features seamlessly Prototyping: Develop and test prototypes to validate design concepts and performance metrics Market Analysis: Conduct market research to inform product features and ensure competitiveness Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle

Requirements



Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline from a top-tier university. A PhD in a related field is a plus. Experience: 3+ years in product development, preferably within the HVAC, automotive, or energy sectors. Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with prototyping tools and techniques.
