Product Engineering Manager

Job Description

The Product Engineering Manager will have full ownership for the production cost and production quality of a range of full custom ASIC products covering a range of market segments, including wireless and automotive.





Your Key Responsibilities



Review of customers and supplier specifications to ensure that customer's needs will be met by the specified products. Plan and execute qualification and reliability programs for a range of new products to recognized industry standards such as Jedec, AECQ or relevant Aerospace standards. Develop and document any required processes or procedures necessary to qualify and release products on schedule. Be familiar with all of the Semiconductor NPI methodologies requirements such as PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA etc. Develop Product Yield Enhancement & Quality improvement methods as products ramp to production. Interface with suppliers to resolve issues in a timely manner. Ensure the smooth transition of products from early stage sampling to high volume production on time and within the quality and cost expectations of the company. Interface with all relevant departments from R&D through sales and marketing to ensure product offering meet time and cost deadlines.
Face to face interactions with both customers and suppliers on the topics of pricing/margin and quality.




Your Key Skills and Experience



Essential


Qualified to degree level or equivalent in electronics or similar discipline. Understand the principles behind analogue and digital testing. Knowledge of SPC & other semiconductor yield enhancement and analytical methods. Understanding of IC manufacturing methods relating to process and packaging.
5 years+ relevant experience.


Desirable


Experienced in testing Semiconductor devices using ATE or bench test equipment. Understanding of package assembly technology. Understanding of common semiconductor qualification test methodologies. Understanding of common semiconductor reliability and quality standards and methods. Understanding of the Fabless business model. Understanding of ISO9000 or similar management systems.





Personality



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong and effective presentation skills, able to operate at multiple levels including senior management. Self-motivated achiever who gains satisfaction from providing excellent customer service and has a 'can-do' attitude. Happy to take ownership of problems and provide suitable solutions. Creative problem solving. Team player. Ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Position Specifics



This role is flexible, some UK and international travel required, specifically travel to customers and supplier sites in USA and Asia will be required
