The purpose of the role

As a Product Information Specialist, you will have the responsibility for generating and communicating Food Product data and technical information in a format specified by our customers and consistent with the Policies of Griffith Foods.



This role is key to growth and development of our food business by ensuring that we meet the challenging deadlines involved in the launch of new products onto the Supermarket shelves, Quick Service Restaurants and Food Service sector.



We are looking for a professional with Food Science, Nutrition, or similar educational background with great attention to detail, data management accuracy and strong communications skills. Does this sound like you? We would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

Product Specifications

Generate and communicate accurate food specifications in widely varying formats for both internal, and external customers within the timeframe specified Provide sample specifications for R&D samples for customer evaluation meeting the commercial deadlines Produce photographic data for customer specifications

Product Information Customer Support

Manage the customer request workflow and priorities whilst interfacing directly with the customer technical teams on their desired timescales Proactively interact with customers enquiries by phone, email, within the shortest appropriate timescale Provide weekly and monthly analysis on specifications, workload, and service levels Respond and/or escalate Food Regulations inquiries Handle crisis inquiries regarding the latest FSA & Food Law Alerts (i.e., Foot & Mouth, Sudan Red, GM etc.) & maintaining & updating the files/specifications as necessary

Requirements

Degree in Food Science, Nutrition or equivalent. Appropriate experience and skill base may substitute for education requirements in exceptional cases Fluency in English mandatory, other languages would be valuable Previous experience with food industry specification tools would be a benefit Ability to discuss technical information with confidence with customers and suppliers and internal teams Ability to work to rapidly changing deadlines and priorities and under stress Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret scientific data and customer enquiries Logical and problem-solving approach Good Ability in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new software Full Driving License would be desirable but not essential
