Wood Mackenzie\'s Upstream and Carbon Management Product team is responsible for a suite of products that enables our customers to make the decisions that matter across the energy value chain. This includes Lens, our data analytics platform that delivers insights at key decision points in end-to-end workflows.

As a Product Manager on the Upstream & Carbon Management team, you will play a key role in delivering value to our customers. You will be involved in all aspects of product development, from understanding and assessing the market opportunity to delivering incremental value through differentiated workflows. You will work closely with both customers and Wood Mackenzie experts to develop products that support critical strategic decisions.

Your role will be reimagining and developing the way in which our customers consume all aspects of analyst generated content across the Upstream and Carbon Management segment, including topical insights, written reports, and all forms of insight (including podcasts, webcalls and videos). This will ensure that our research team can deliver insight in a delivery channel that works, enabling customers to navigate complex market dynamics, and make more effective decisions through thought-leading content.

This role requires a high level of creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities coupled with real life product experience.

Main responsibilities

Working with our Upstream and Carbon Management Product Team, you will drive product transformation by monitoring and owning return on investment and communicating with a large and varied stakeholder group including senior management. You will be critical in balancing our broader strategic vision of powering the energy transition, with the on-going needs of our customers, to set a roadmap and continuously deliver value to our customers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Consistently communicating with customers (internal and external) to understand what they do and the challenges they face.
  • Identifying and analyzing opportunities to improve our products by learning from, and working with, our customers and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborating across all parts Wood Mackenzie to gain fresh perspectives and ideas while also being an evangelist for Upstream and Carbon Management products
  • Effectively manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, leading development teams to deliver products and features that fit with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Building, maintaining, and prioritizing a product backlog by writing user stories that include clear acceptance and testing criteria.
  • Using relevant industry knowledge to inform your decision making
  • Defining, measuring, and monitoring product success after releases
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • An interest in making a difference to the way we power the planet
Qualifications

About you and how you can excel in this role

You will be a passionate about bringing great products to market and solving our customers biggest challenges. You will ideally have a background in the energy or financial sectors. Your experience includes;
  • At least 3 years of product management experience including owning roadmaps, user research, and collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and company leadership.
  • A track record in leveraging data and experience to drive product strategy and vision.
  • An ability to balance priorities by understanding technical and financial trade-offs, while clearly communicating these to stakeholders.
  • Experience of tackling big problems, which require complex problem solving
  • A good understanding of the techniques and methods of product discovery and product delivery.
  • Bachelor\'s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Information
  • We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future.
  • Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
