Job Description

We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded Product Manager to help drive the continued growth of our Data Products business. Our data solutions power critical insights for the life sciences sector, and this role is instrumental in shaping the next phase of our product evolution based on a deep understanding of customer and market needs.


Reporting to the Director of Product, you'll take ownership of defining, developing, and enhancing product features and capabilities across our portfolio, ensuring each investment delivers measurable value and aligns with Hanson Wade's overall business and product strategies. This is a key opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of market insight, commercial thinking, and data-driven product management.

Key Responsibilities



Commercial



Develop a deep understanding of market challenges, customer needs, and the value propositions of our portfolio in line with Hanson Wade and Beacon's product strategy. Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to identify new growth opportunities and collect actionable product feedback. Articulate and evolve the value proposition of our products based on market feedback and business priorities.


Customer Focus



Be the Voice of the Customer throughout the product development process, ensuring decisions are data-driven and aligned with user needs. Gather and analyse quantitative and qualitative feedback to support investment decisions and prioritisation. Translate evolving market needs into successful product solutions that deliver measurable ROI. Lead the validation and launch of product enhancements and new modules, meeting tight commercial deadlines and quality standards. Develop and maintain detailed user personas, use cases, and competitor insights to inform product strategy. Support commercial teams with product training and sales enablement materials.


Project Management



Maintain and communicate the Beacon Product Roadmap in alignment with strategic goals. Manage the execution and delivery of product improvement initiatives--on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards. Prioritise and provide clarity on product vision, requirements, and scope. Oversee the full product lifecycle: from ideation and prototyping through development, release, and post-implementation analysis. Produce detailed and accurate product specifications that reflect customer needs and commercial goals. Prepare and deliver functional briefs for Sales, Marketing, Tech, and Research teams. Coordinate and lead cross-functional meetings, energising and aligning internal teams around shared objectives. Maintain product documentation, including scope, features, and decision histories.

People & Collaboration



Build and manage productive relationships across Sales, Marketing, Tech, and Research Operations teams. Resolve conflicts constructively and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture. Lead internal training sessions and act as a role model for data product producers.

Required Skills & Experience



3-5 years of product management experience (ideally within the life sciences market intelligence or data analytics sectors). Proven experience defining and launching data-driven or analytical tools for life sciences R&D or pharma drug development teams. Strong understanding of the market intelligence needs of functions such as R&D, Clinical, Translational, and Market Intelligence. Strong communication and influencing skills High energy and driven with an ability to execute at speed Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present to large groups Project management experience A collaborative team player with excellent written and oral communication skills A proven ability to work with cross-functional teams
