Your role in helping us shape the future:

As part of the Intelsat\'s mobility business unit, you will define new Maritime products and drive the process to introduce these products to the market. You will focus on successful product introduction, performance and revenue.

Responsible for product definition, business case, and lifecycle management; ensure that all stakeholders, including program management, marketing, sales, finance, engineering, and management teams are engaged and supportive.

Work with the sales and commercial team to identify market opportunities and align product requirements to market value and anticipate needs. As the subject matter expert, familiar with existing and emerging industry and market trends, clearly articulate the product value, business vision, and Intelsat position to internal and external audiences.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Drive the development and approval of business cases for new product concepts.
  • Articulate product strategies and go-to-market plans to appropriate internal and external forums. Includes regular and consistent interfacing with Finance, Operations, Yield Management (Pricing), Sales and Marketing.
  • Work closely with Corporate Strategy and Global/Regional Sales to identify market opportunities, benchmark competitive offerings, recommend partnership opportunities and industry trends that will impact the future of the maritime industry.
  • Build complete product information including training materials, sales and marketing collateral material. Facilitate training sessions on new products as needed.
  • Build and manage processes related to product development inception, including the creation, management and documentation of product requirements and associated deliverables.
  • Seek out, develop and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships that will drive the development of new maritime products, ensure alignment on product roadmap, GTM product positioning and sales strategies.
  • Coordinate regular and consistent communication of product roadmap with internal stakeholders. Develop and maintain global marketplace feedback loop to ensure roadmap is aligned with market opportunity and demand.
You should definitely have:
  • University degree in business, technology or engineering
  • At least 10-years of strong product management experience including developing and executing effective product plans and strategies (a graduate degree and 8-years of experience matching the above descriptions will be considered)
  • Thorough knowledge of the economics and operations of telecommunications technology
  • Experience developing products from inception to launch, includes interfacing with the engineering, operations and sales teams, and a thorough understanding of the businesses of maritime customers across global markets
  • Understanding of financial concepts to assist in business case development
  • Ability to identify and articulate how value gets created and refined within a value chain
  • Collaborate with operations in the development of Revenue, CapEx, & OpEx budgets for the product/service line
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel, and project management software and tools
  • Experience working in matrixed organization and demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
It would be nice if you had:
  • Experience working with both satellite terrestrial technologies and with maritime technologies
  • Knowledge of the satellite industry and/or the cellular industry
  • Experience working in a global company
  • Graduate degree in business, technology or engineering
  • Build a reputation as a senior business leader by demonstrating product expertise, representing Intelsat as a speaker at industry conferences, and publishing white papers.
