The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end flow of stock within the Charity Super.Mkt operation from incoming donations and bulk deliveries, to the curated selection sent to each retail location. The role ensures that the warehouse runs efficiently, stock is processed and priced accurately, and that each store receives product that suits its customer base, demand cycles, and revenue targets.
This position manages a multi-disciplinary team of porters, sorters, and pricers, ensuring productivity, quality standards, and a positive, cohesive workplace culture. The Product Manager also safeguards location upkeep, compliance, and daily operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stock Flow & Curation
Manage all incoming deliveries (donations, bulk buys, inter-store transfers and rotations), ensuring items are logged, sorted, organised and processed efficiently.
Oversee all outgoing stock to stores--planning, selecting, and dispatching inventory based on each location's customer profile, sales patterns, seasonal trends, weather conditions and space constraints.
Ensure high-quality curation, maintaining consistent standards for condition, trend relevance, and stock mix.
Maintain a real-time understanding of store performance to tailor stock selection and prevent over/under-supply.
2. Operations
Manage smooth day to day operations, including cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to health & safety guidelines.
Create and maintain clear workflow systems for sorting, grading, processing, and pricing.
Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks & inefficiencies promptly.
3. Team Leadership & Performance
Lead and motivate a warehouse team covering portering, sorting, and pricing.
Train team members on product knowledge, sorting criteria, pricing guidelines, and retail quality standards.
Support staff wellbeing, encourage collaboration, and maintain a positive team culture.
Plan staffing to match operational needs (deliveries, seasonality, special projects).
4. Pricing & Quality Standards
Ensure pricing accuracy based on brand knowledge, garment condition, market value, and store demographic.
Monitor quality control checks at every stage of the process.
Continuously refine guidelines and train the team in consistent product grading and pricing.
5. Reporting & Targets
Track throughput, stock volumes, pricing accuracy, and dispatch timelines.
Provide weekly reporting on productivity, stock movement, and store supply performance.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue through smarter allocation, improved processing, or enhanced pricing.
6. Cross-Department Collaboration
Work closely with retail store managers to align supply with store needs.
Liaise with logistics teams across the centre management and courier companies to schedule collections and deliveries.
Collaborate with line manager on product strategy, merchandising direction, and seasonal planning.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
1. Stock Processing & Output
Daily/weekly processing targets met: e.g., X items sorted and priced per day/week.
Turnaround time: % of stock processed within 48-72 hours of arrival.
Outbound fulfilment rate: % of store stock requests fulfilled on time.
2. Stock Quality & Curation
Store satisfaction score (from store managers): accuracy and quality of stock received.
Reduction in store-level rejects/returns due to mis-sent items.
Accuracy of stock mix based on demographic, seasonal demand, and sales data from MicroMkt.
3. Pricing Accuracy & Revenue Contribution
Pricing compliance: X% of items priced correctly according to guidelines.
Average selling price (AIV) improvement per store due to better curation and pricing unless otherwise required.
Shrinkage reduction: minimal loss/damage or miscategorised stock. Report back on dead stock / soiled and unsellable goods.
4. Warehouse Efficiency
Operational uptime: warehouse consistently organised, safe, and audit-ready.
Delivery punctuality: % of inbound/outbound deliveries completed on time.
Workflow efficiency: reductions in bottlenecks, delays, or backlogs.
Order supplies for the warehouse and claim expenses timely and correctly.
5. Team Performance & Culture
Team productivity: per-person daily output targets.
Staff retention and punctuality and attendance rates.
Team engagement and culture.
Training completion: all team members trained on sorting, product knowledge, and pricing standards.
6. Communication & Reporting
Timeliness and accuracy of weekly reporting.
Effective communication with store managers: measured via observation and feedback.
Data-driven decision making: evidence of stock decisions based on sales trends and reporting insights.
Experience
Proven experience in fashion retail is essential
Experience in fashion warehouse or logistics management role is essential, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
Knowledge of fashion brands and vintage fashion.
Competence in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation purposes.
