CLAYS TECHNOLOGY


Clays is a tech and data led company. Working with nine technology partners to build our game and hardware along with our own inhouse team we hold patents and other IP across 39 countries globally and over the past couple of years have developed more internal tools and taken key parts of our tech stack in house, including our website and dynamic pricing model along with tools our partners use to support the operations teams. Clays also generates large quantities of data, from both the gameplay and all touchpoints with our customers that we store and is used for business analytics, operational forecasting tools and marketing automation tools.

SUMMARY OF POSITION


What's the Gig, you ask?


As the Product Owner for Clays, you will act as a vital conduit between the business, our customers, our internal tech team, and external technology partners.


Your role will focus on driving the successful delivery of our technology roadmap, ensuring alignment between business goals and digital initiatives. You will work collaboratively across departments to prioritise and develop innovative ideas that enhance the guest experience and maximise revenue generation. This role will take a strategic mindset with a hands-on approach, capable of translating business needs into actionable product features.


You will be comfortable managing multiple workstreams and work at ease with stakeholders, tech partners, and creative teams to ensure alignment and momentum. You will bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a solutions-focused attitude that inspires those around you.


With a strong understanding of both customer needs and technical capabilities, you will champion product improvements that support Clays' growth and elevate our brand in a competitive hospitality landscape. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Your role will include but may not be limited to the following responsibilities;

Product Vision & Strategy Development
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with our business objectives and enhances the guest experience.
Backlog Management & Prioritisation
Develop and maintain a transparent product backlog, prioritizing features and improvements based on business value, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, the tech team, and external partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment on product goals and progress.
Customer-Centric Focus
Gather and analyze customer feedback and market trends to inform product decisions, ensuring the product meets user needs and expectations.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Define and track key performance indicators to assess product success and identify areas for improvement, driving continuous enhancement of the guest experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with design, marketing, and operations teams to ensure cohesive product development and successful feature launches. Comfortable translating non-technical needs into clearly scoped technical requirements
Risk Management & Problem Resolution
Identify potential risks and obstacles in the product development process, proactively addressing issues to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
Quality Assurance Involvement
Take an active role in product testing where needed--helping to define acceptance criteria, perform exploratory testing, and validate new features against business and user requirements. You'll be expected to contribute to ensuring a high-quality release and smooth user experience.
UI & UX Prototyping

Clays has a strong external UX & UI partner to provide guidelines and tweak the final product, however a basic understanding of wireframe would be desirable


SKILLS, DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

Proven experience owning and delivering a product roadmap aligned to business goals Experience driving product strategy that balances guest experience, operational efficiency, and revenue generation Expertise in managing complex product backlogs with multiple stakeholder inputs Experience conducting or leveraging user research, testing, and analytics to guide decisions Commercial awareness to assess the revenue and operational implications of product changes Confident communicator who can influence decisions and manage expectations Experienced in balancing competing priorities while keeping teams aligned and motivated Ability to work effectively with development teams; understands system architecture, APIs, integrations, and data flows Experience using tools like YouTrack, Metabase & Balsamiq Adept at Familiarity with hospitality tech platforms (POS, booking systems, CRM) is a strong plus Comfortable working with data sets and dashboards to assess product performance Ability to set and track KPIs, identify trends, and pivot direction based on insights Capable of fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation Experience contributing to the development of product processes and best practices Strong ability to collaborate across departments and teams Always looking for opportunities to improve your knowledge and abilities Passionate about hospitality and creating amazing experiences Honest with strong moral principles Take initiative, can solve problems calmly and work well under pressure
