About Hyperlayer

Hyperlayer is a B2B product company, building a platform to revolutionise the world of payments. Hyperlayer transforms digital wallets into smart wallets that change the way people, and businesses, spend money. Wallets powered by Hyperlayer let consumers withdraw money from multiple accounts with a single tap, for a specific purpose.

Our platform enables capabilities such as connecting specific accounts with targeted brand spending, it gives merchants and customers access to cutting-edge rewards, and since spending is social, Hyperlayer supports group saving, sharing and spending. All in one platform.

Hyperlayer is working with large retailers and financial institutions. Our product introduces innovation to these industries to create solutions: helping consumers, families, and groups improve their financial wellbeing by making their money go further.

About the role:

We are seeking a Product Owner to act as the bridge between Product Management and Engineering, ensuring product strategy is executed effectively. The Product Owner will manage backlogs, write user stories, define acceptance criteria, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features that align with Hyperlayer's product vision.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in execution, delivery, and detail, with strong analytical skills and a passion for financial services technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Backlog Ownership & Execution

Write clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, covering happy paths, edge cases, and error scenarios. Prioritize and organize backlog items to support efficient sprint planning and delivery. Facilitate refinement sessions to ensure engineers fully understand requirements and expectations.

Cross-Functional collaboration

Partner with design to refine user journeys and flows, ensuring behaviour is fully defined ahead of build. Engage with Compliance, Marketing, and Customer Support to validate that features meet business needs and obligations. Serve as the primary liaison between Product and Engineering for the mobile app, ensuring smooth communication and delivery alignment.

Quality & Delivery Assurance

Review engineering deliverables to confirm alignment with acceptance criteria and product intent. Maintain consistency and quality across app features, with a keen eye for detail in copy, states, and error handling. Identify ambiguities early and resolve gaps before build starts.

You should apply if you have:

5+ years' experience in Product Operations, Product Analytics, or related roles in fast-paced tech/fintech companies. Proven experience writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for software development teams. Strong collaboration skills with designers, product managers, and engineers. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to convey complex requirements clearly. High attention to detail, with ability to anticipate unhappy paths and edge cases. Structured thinking and strong prioritization skills. Familiarity with Agile workflows and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Experience working on mobile applications or digital products.

Preferred qualifications:

Background in fintech, financial services, or SaaS product environments. Experience with OKRs, agile operating models, cross-functional teams and product governance. Exposure to generative AI tools and modern product analytics platforms (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Pendo). Track record of partnering with senior leadership to drive operating rhythm and decision-making. Understanding of mobile platforms, UX/UI principles, and user-centric design. Technical aptitude to communicate effectively with engineers. Agile, Scrum, or Business Analysis certification.
