About the Role:



The Product Owner, Web Marketing translates strategic vision into actionable platform capabilities that improve content authoring efficiency and customer experience. This role ensures wiley.com and related marketing sites deliver optimized, accessible, and personalized experiences that meet business goals and customer expectations.



As the bridge between Web Marketing and Technology teams, you will translate business needs into platform requirements, prioritize features based on value and impact, and manage cross-team dependencies with eCommerce technology initiatives. This role requires deep understanding of content management systems, marketing workflows, and platform capabilities.



Working across Marketing, Technology, and eCommerce teams, you will prioritize initiatives that enhance site performance, discoverability (SEO/GEO), personalization, and conversion while maintaining governance and compliance standards.



Success means marketers are empowered to create quality content efficiently, customers experience fast and accessible sites, and the platform delivers measurable improvements in conversion and discoverability.



How you will make an impact:



Shape Product Strategy & Roadmap

: Maintain a 12-18 month roadmap aligned with business strategy, balance technical debt with new features, and ensure platform readiness for AI optimization and personalization.

Manage Requirements & Backlog

: Gather requirements from stakeholders, write detailed user stories with acceptance criteria, define MVP approaches, and coordinate releases and UAT across technology teams.

Lead Stakeholder Collaboration

: Serve as primary liaison between Web Marketing, eCommerce, MarTech , and Technology teams; facilitate sprint planning, negotiate priorities, and present unified platform updates to leadership.

Champion Platform Adoption

: Enable marketers to leverage platform capabilities effectively, collaborate with UX and Web Experience Optimization teams, and manage inputs from multiple stakeholders into prioritized deliverables.

Drive

Data-Driven Decisions

: Define and track technical requirements (Core Web Vitals, accessibility, security), establish KPIs with Analytics team, and use data-driven insights to inform product decisions and demonstrate value.

Ensure Platform Excellence

: Partner with Web Experience Optimization and UX teams to ensure platform capabilities support SEO/GEO requirements, experimentation, and customer journey optimization.

What we look for:



Product Management Experience

: Proven experience managing MarTech or digital marketing platforms with proven track record in CMS, DAM, or marketing platform implementations (or equivalent experience).

MarTech

Expertise

: Experience with enterprise marketing technology stacks including CMS, DAM, personalization tools, SEO/SEM tools, tag management systems, and understanding of marketing attribution, customer journey analytics, and content lifecycle management.

Agile Product Delivery

: Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, requirements gathering, user story writing, prioritization frameworks ( MoSCoW , value vs. effort), and product management tools (Jira, Confluence).

Technical Understanding

: Knowledge of web architecture and system interactions, ability to assess technical feasibility and identify implementation challenges, and understanding of web performance, security, and scalability considerations.

Cross-Functional Leadership

: Ability to influence without authority, translate business needs into technical requirements, manage cross-team dependencies, and balance competing priorities across teams.

Strategic & Data-Driven Mindset

: Outcome-oriented approach, comfortable with ambiguity, strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills, and customer-centric mindset with focus on continuous learning.

Marketing Operations Knowledge

: Understanding of marketing campaign lifecycle, content operations, governance standards, and data privacy requirements (GDPR).

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
