Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to both develop and then oversee our manufacturing operations, which have expanded significantly in a short time, necessitating a formalising of existing production methods and means.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that current production processes are fully documented, and then lead improvements on them to ensure they run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, whilst setting and delivering high-quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to meet production goals, as well as the ability / experience to create a formal production process from scratch, in a growing family business, that manufactures transportable fairground rides to customers in the UK and beyond. Duties



Review and document current production processes, using expertise to optimise those in terms of safety and efficiency (time, cost, materials) Manage daily production activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Supervise and train production staff, fostering a positive work environment. Coordinate with purchasing to ensure the timely assembly and distribution of products. Support quality control processes and development, including traceability of safety-critical parts Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet changing demands. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery, ensuring proper mechanical knowledge is applied for maintenance. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in the production line. Maintain accurate records of key production and quality metrics and report on performance to senior management.

Experience



Proven experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge, especially of assembly of large dynamic structures (any production experience in the amusement / fairground industry desired, but not essential) Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role working with workshop and welding teams is preferred. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a quality control role would be advantageous Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
