The Business Operations team get things done. Made up of Operations, Project & Process Managers, they ensure our ways of working are agile and efficient and lead on our biggest and most important changes or launches across the department and other Channel 4 teams. The team are our key contacts for keeping projects & processes flowing smoothly and efficiently through the department.
The role is based in C4's National HQ in Leeds and will be a key component of C4's regional strategy, providing creative job opportunities outside of London and expanding the diversity of the company's creative contribution.
JOB PURPOSE
4Studio is at the heart of Channel 4's digital transformation strategy and the future of our Business Operations department is intrinsically tied up with data, technology, innovation and implementation of agile processes, to support the delivery of 4Studio's KPIs & targets
Working closely with our Channel & Production teams, the Production Assistant will help ensure that our social content helps us maintain a robust music rights position as well as hitting the mark with our audiences. You will be the day-to-day contact with the Channel 4 Music Rights team, acting as a conduit between the 2 teams, ensuring music rights information from shows across our current schedule and back catalogue is up to date and all music usage can be accurately reported.
You'll be an integral part of the content production and publishing process, providing administrative support to the wider team helping to maximise their content output.
This job holder will be part of our 4Studio Business Operations team and will be required to liaise and collaborate with our entire 4Studio family and other Channel 4 teams on your projects and day to day work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
Responsible for ensuring all administrative tasks are completed as part of the delivery process
You will be the day-to-day contact with our Music Rights team, acting as a conduit between the two teams to ensure all music use can be accurately reported
You will resolve any music rights information gaps, tracking down information from shows across our current schedule and our back catalogue
You will be responsible for inputting the rights data for our freelancers into our online reporting systems
You will support the team in ensuring the right data is captured in the production systems and tools, helping drive consistency and resolve gaps or errors in data when needed
You will be confident in identifying how processes can be defined or improved and will take a proactive role in projects and initiatives that deliver improvements across the department.
Your attention to detail and written communication skills will be impeccable.
You'll need to manage a busy workload so your organisation skills will be on point
You'll be solution-focused, calm in a crisis and a voice of reason when things don't go according to plan
You'll be passionate about the fast-paced world of digital production
You should be passionate about Channel 4's output, remit and values. They come into everything we do
You will be required to manage the sometimes-competing demands of key stakeholders. Cool under pressure and excellent powers of persuasion are required
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Technical & Professional Skills
Proven experience of providing administrative support to a busy team, as part of a digital media company or within a social or digital production team
Must have a thorough understanding of processes, workflows tools and methodologies
Should be a quick learner and curious about new technologies and solutions
Excellent computer literacy and ability to embrace new technology and systems
Experience of using productivity tools such as Monday.com or Trello is preferred
An understanding of rights management is preferred. An interest in the area is a must.
Strong attention to detail, especially when maintaining consistent workflow processes & data entry
Autonomy/Judgement/Decision Making
Should be confident in communicating at a wide variety of levels
Able to reprioritise workloads according to changing needs
Able to identify where your support is most valuable to the team and proactively support
Must be highly organised.
Managing Resources
Will follow digital production workflows.
Relationship Management
Proven experience of establishing strong and effective working relationships across multiple stakeholders and teams
Comfortable communicating with different departments to meet differing demands
Must be willing to travel between Leeds and London as and when required
Works regularly with a mixture of people from managers, immediate team, and third-party suppliers or freelancers
Must be collaborative in their approach
Basic salary per annum starting from
27,125.00

Hybrid working
From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
Having everyone in the office three days a week gives us more opportunity to build our high performing, inclusive culture; to collaborate and to learn and share with each other, as well as helping to coordinate a regular pattern of home and office working days. Employees then have the flexibility to decide where they spend the rest of the working week. All our offices are open five days a week.
