As a Production Assistant at First Hydro Company, part of ENGIE, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and operating our dynamic pumped storage plants in the breathtaking Snowdonia region of Wales. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and safety of our facilities, ensuring we continue to generate clean electricity for the UK.
What you will do
Assist craft workers, technicians, and operators in their daily duties
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across all power station areas
Perform routine manual tasks and basic repairs using workshop equipment
Manage environmental responsibilities, including hazardous waste and legionella monitoring
Operate forklift trucks, cranes, and MEWPs safely and efficiently
Conduct plant inspections and record observations using computerized systems
Carry out basic rigging and slinging operations
Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
What you will bring
Practical knowledge of industrial safety and EH&S legislation (LOLER and PUWER)
Experience working with safety procedures and practices
Proficient in operating handheld power tools and workshop machines
Valid full driving license, overhead crane operating license, and forklift truck driving license
IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Excellent communication skills at all levels
IT skills to manage computerized work activity systems
Desirable: MEWP Driving Certificate and CISRS Scaffolding Labourer qualification
