Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Food Production Assistant to join our team in Mayobridge. You will play a vital role in our in-store food production, assisting with the preparation, processing, and packaging of a variety of fresh food items for our customers. This position requires a strong focus on hygiene, efficiency, and teamwork, ensuring that our food products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of a range of food items, such as salads, sandwiches, ready meals, and baked goods, following established recipes and guidelines. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including slicers, mixers, ovens, and packaging machinery (full training will be provided). Ensure all food preparation and handling processes adhere to strict food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning and sanitization of equipment and surfaces. Package and label food products accurately and efficiently, ensuring they are presented attractively for sale. Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Undertake other duties as reasonably requested to support the efficient operation of the food production area.

Skills and Qualifications:

While previous experience in food preparation or handling is beneficial, it is not always essential as full training will be provided to the right candidate. A basic understanding of food hygiene principles is desirable, and a willingness to undertake relevant food safety training (e.g., CIEH Level 2 Food Safety) will be expected. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating effectively with colleagues. Ability to follow instructions carefully and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. A strong work ethic and a positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and contribute to the team's success. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards. Flexibility to work varied hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on the needs of the business.
