We are looking for a new member to join our team as a
Production Assistant/Drayperson
Role Responsibilities:
Packaging
Cellar Assistance:
Tank transfers & cleaning
Preparing beer for packaging (carbonation)
Packaging of beer, including:
Setup & Close down
Kegging
Casking
Bottling
Canning
Labeling
Accurate record keeping
Cleaning of packaging equipment and Fermentation Vessels
Preparing pallets for shipping
Some assistance may be required on brew days, most usually emptying malt sacks into the hopper
Forklift driving - moving pallets around the warehouse and loading/unloading lorries
Managing the brewery cold store to stack kegs and boxes in an ordered and structured manner
Using our various software systems to book in couriers, print shipping labels and mark orders as dispatched
Ensuring stock is readily available to pick from in a safe manner
Drayperson
Loading & Delivery: Safely loading the company van with kegs, casks, and cases of beer for delivery to pubs, bars, and bottle shops across the local area and beyond.
Customer Service: Acting as a professional and friendly brand ambassador for Gower Brewery, when interacting with customers. Building positive relationships with clients.
Route Management: Following a pre-planned delivery schedule efficiently to ensure timely deliveries.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting daily vehicle checks (oil, water, tyres) and ensuring the van is kept clean and presentable. Reporting any vehicle faults promptly.
Collections & Paperwork: Collecting empty kegs/casks from customers. Handling delivery notes, invoices, and processing payments where necessary.
Key Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older for insurance purposes
Right to live and work in the UK
Hold a full clean current UK driving license
Sociable, self-motivated, team player that's able to work independently
Have excellent customer relationship skills - polite, responsive and helpful
Knowledge of traffic laws and highway code
Articulate & computer/technology literate
Excellent numerical skills
The ideal candidate:
Relevant working experience.
A passion for beer quality.
Enjoy record keeping, monitoring and attention to detail.
A keen interest in packaging and production methods
A desire to engage with up to date research and processes
Adaptability
Proven team working
A forklift license is desirable.(training will be provided if needed)
Proficiency in the use of pallet trucks and warehouse duties.
Please be aware that this is a physically demanding role, manual handling training will be provided.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
